Our Vision and Values

Poverty just loves to destroy lives. It breaks families apart, isolates people from friends and family, shatters confidence and drives many to think that suicide is the only way out.UK poverty is real, with millions locked in its miserable grip. We’re not prepared to sit back and let it wreak havoc across Kendal and District.

In a just and compassionate society, no one should be trapped in their home, afraid to open the door or answer the phone. No one should wake up wondering where they’ll find the money to feed their children or heat their home. No one should have to be alone, especially when times are tough. We’d like to recognise other organisations that are supporting those in debt in the Kendal and District area such as Age UK, Citizen’s Advice and Kendal Food Bank.

That’s why we are partnering with Christian Against Poverty (CAP), as this is a mission. To restore hope for those who are lost and hurting. In partnership with our incredible partner churches across Kendal – we ultimately want to bring life-changing freedom and Good News to people in desperate need.

Our Values

We will work with all people who need the support of Kendal and District Debt Centre regardless of, disability, race, sexual orientation, gender, age, religion, or belief. 

We appreciate that some clients will have challenging life circumstances. We will partner with all organisations to fully support and refer when needed to other agencies. 

We strive to be passionate and compassionate: We do what we do because we care deeply about seeing people released from debt, poverty, and their causes.

We will strive to communicate well with supporters, clients and partner churches and give ample opportunities to attend evangelistic events.

We seek to exceed our clients’ expectations, being generous with our time and by providing an excellent standard of practical support.

We will be courageous and innovative, not settling for the same old when we can push for bigger and better.
